  • Black Hole Kids – Demo (2010)
    By on March 15th, 2010 | 112 Comments112 Comments Comments

    bitrate: 160 kBit/s
    genre: Screamo, Punk
    country: USA
notes: Yesterday I was contacted by a very friendly member of BHK, so he gave me their demo to take a listen. Honestly, instant liking of the tunes! The four songs continued to spin nonstop on my player, since I was quite attracted by the vocal and the sort of catchyness of the melodies. BHK is influenced by a variety of genres, such as crust, punk, screamo and post-hardcore, but the thing I liked the most was the ever clinging tone of ’80s hardcore. Very interesting band, hope you boys and girls check them out.

  • Insuiciety – The Cure for the Truth (2009)

    bitrate: 128 kBit/s
    genre: Sludge
    country: Poland/Germany
notes: I was under the impression that I posted it a while ago, but guess what…I didn’t. Which basically surprises me, since I was under huge euphoria after their show last year here in my hometown. This is their first full lenght, and wow is it great! 5 songs, 30 minutes of juicy, slow and thundering sludge sound! Definitely one of the best vocals in sludge genre and yeah you guessed it, it’s a female singer! She absolutely blew me away live (as well as the rest of the band), stunning performance which really puts a seal of “perfection” on this act. Check it out, they deserve the attention.

  • Meleeh – To Live and Die Alone (2010)

    bitrate: 210 kBit/s (vbr)
    genre: Screamo
    country: Sweden
notes: By accident I found out these guys released this new thingy. Some of you probably know about this band, those who don’t, well here is a good opportunity. This release brings us 10 new songs…Usually I’m NOT a fan of albums having more then 5-6 songs. But here, it doesn’t matter, since the whole album is fast-paced and very, very interesting and enjoyable, so you don’t get the feeling that it is long or anything. Great release, check it out!

  • Kazan – Maslow 0 (2010)

    bitrate: 320 kBit/s
    genre: Screamo
    country: France
notes: Yes, I have become a lazy bastard and posts here have become quite rare. But the sheer awesomeness of this release has kicked me out of hibernation. Kazan continues the French tradition of some of the best screamo tunes a country can offer. Amazing melodies, stunning vocals and a great ability to set up a specific mood. Definitely check these guys out, it is absolutely worth your time.

Amazing instruments backed up with great vocals and lyrics, the six songs on this release are really astounding. Quite enjoyable stuff, sets you into a very specific mood. Check them out, you won’t regret!

  • Skreaming June! “Dance Tonight Fest”
    By on February 2nd, 2010 | 99 Comments99 Comments Comments

“Dance Tonight! fest will be held the 4+5th of June, at Ungdommenshus, in Fredericia, Denmark.
The idea of this festival is to have a shitload of fun, while maintaining a good and respectful attitude. Because of this we serve no meat, so that everyone can enjoy a good meal, we do not see any kind of violence, and we do not see any drug use either. Of course we do not allow any kind of discrimination either, be it due to religion, nationality, sex or sexual preferences, or any other matter.
Simply put: No meat, no violence, no drugs, no discrimination!” (taken from their myspace page)

Sounds great, huh? But keep your pants on, you haven’t seen the bandlist!

    Aussitôt Mort
    My Polaris Artillery
    Suis La Lune
    Millions Of Them
    Blood Command
If Footmen Tire you, what will horses do?
    Echo, Echo, Landscape!
    The Seven Mile Journey
    and some single bands TBC.

Damn you Denmark for being so far away! Of course, the fest is far away at this point, so the bandlist is subject to change, but hopefully the only thing changing will be an increasing number of bands.
So what to say? If you are lucky enough to make it to the fest, GO! This is just one of those thing you don’t want to miss.

notes: New, fresh and exciting. By pure luck I befriended Nick (member from Polina) on Lastfm and so I found out about this young Canadian band. Very interesting screamo, imo a bit influenced by some Australian bands, 5 songs that really give you much enjoyment. Thanks to Nick for giving this ep to me, I hope they continue writing such interesting music!

  • Reaching Away
    By on January 25th, 2010 | 117 Comments117 Comments Comments

    bitrate: Various (128 kBit/s and 155 kBit/s (vbr))
    genre: Emo
    country: USA
notes: I feel quite guilty for posting this, since these songs are unreleased (and currently I don’t know are they planned to be released or not). But the three songs are circling the web, although only among a small group of people. So if anyone from Reaching away sees this and wants me to put it down from the blog, I will. Until then… Reaching away are 4 members, 3 hail from the legendary emo band The Pine. This is just one of those bands that you are really speechless about. Absolutely fantastic and stunning songs, the guys from the Pine grown up now but definitely haven’t lost their touch! Don’t miss the chance to take a listen, this is what emo should sound like!

    bitrate: 116 kBit/s (vbr)
    genre: Screamo
    country: Hungary
notes: Yet another band I forgot to post:/ Very interesting screamo band from Hungary, what attracted me the most is the vocal. Don’t know why, but I really find it luring. But don’t think that the vocals are the only good thing here, the whole band quite kicks. Enjoy!

  • Document Of Forgotten Smiles – Demo cdr (2009)

    bitrate: 201 kBit/s (vbr)
    genre: Hardcore, Screamo
    country: Hungary
notes: I am a complete idiot. This (and one other) band has been given to me for posting a while ago by Botond from Itai Itai records and I have totally forgot to post:/ So sorry for that. Anyway, when Choose Your Path stopped to exist, Document rose from it’s ashes. Quite an interesting band, be sure to check it out!
